A Message from the Clerk/Treasurer

I am honored to serve as Clerk/Treasurer for the Village of Kenmore. As Kenmore residents, my family and I have always felt great pride in this community and the many services it provides. The emergency services of our Police and Fire Department cannot be beat, and I am proud to work with such dedicated government officials. Everyone working for the Village is committed to providing the very best service to the Kenmore community.

EXPERIENCE:

I have worked for the Village for over 25 years, having previously served as Acting Justice and as Village Attorney. I have enjoyed all of the positions I have held in the Village and feel that this background has afforded me the opportunity to really know and understand the Village government and the community it serves.

As part of my job, I am fortunate to work very closely with the Mayor and Board of Trustees, village employees, businesses and residents. We are so lucky to have a municipality where there exists such a strong working relationship between all of these people, who are committed to providing quality service to the community and to making Kenmore a great place to live and work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clerk/Treasurer is responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day operation of the Village and for compiling the agenda for Board review. All Village records, including minutes, agreements and contracts are maintained in the Clerk's Office.  Please note, that if you don't find Minutes on line for a particular meeting date, please contact this office so that we can provide hard copies.

In addition, as the Chief Financial Officer of the Village, the Clerk/Treasurer is responsible for collecting revenues and paying Village expenses.

The Registrar is responsible for maintaining all records of birth and death in the Village.  Please note that Kenmore Mercy Hospital is located in the Town of Tonawanda.

Village Water bills are paid to this office. We also accept applications for village employment and funding through the Community Development Block Grant Program, as well as taking requests for information through Freedom of Information Law (FOIL). Persons seeking building, peddler, sign or other permits will make application in Room 17. This is also the office to contact should you require a Sump pump certificate in order to facilitate the transfer of your home.

Block Party requests should also be sent to this office.  This can be done via a letter or email.  Your request should include the street (including cross streets), date, rain date and contact information for the person making the request.  Please note that all block parties need to be approved by the Board, so it's important to submit your request at least 1 month before the date you are requesting.

Please note that no approvals for Block Parties or Street Closures are being issued at this time.

The Clerk/Treasurer office staff is here to assist you with any questions or problems you may have pertaining to any of the Village departments.
