November 9, 2018. This Veteran's Day, 11/11/18 marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. Previously called Armistice Day, this date was declared a National Holiday to remember the veterans who fought in WWI, also known as the Great War, or the War to End All Wars. To mark this 100th anniversary, Bells of Peace has been established as a nationwide program. At 11 AM bells will be ringing to honor the 116,516 Americans that died in WWI and to honor all of our veterans. The Village will be conducting the Annual Veterans Day Ceremony on the Municipal Green on Sunday, 11/11 at 11 AM. This ceremony in coordinated by the Harry E. Crosby Post #2472 and the American Legion Milton J. Brounshidle Post #205. Please join us in honoring all of our veterans, past and present.
