KENMORE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
The Village of Kenmore Police Department initiated its Neighborhood Watch program in 1982. Initially, there was only one group in the program known as the Kenton-Courier Crime Watch. By 1984, three more groups were organized, referred to as the Kenmore Watchdogs, the Mang Park Care Bears, and the Del-Elm Neighborhood Watch. With these additions, nearly all of the streets in the Village had become part of a watch program. The entire Village was represented with the inclusion of the Wardman Road Crime Watch and the Kenmore Crime Busters. All of the individual groups have now joined into a single entity, known as the KENMORE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH ORGANIZATION. The group is comprised of volunteer residents, who are educated as to signs of criminal activity. Through the efforts of these incredible volunteers, Neighborhood Watch signs were erected throughout the Village. Volunteers distributed thousands of slingers to announce meeting dates and alerting their neighbors to specific security problems. Working with the Kenmore Police Department, these dedicated, community-minded citizens offer the following services:
MEETING TIMES The NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH meets on the second Tuesday of every month, from September through June. Meetings are held in the Kenmore Community Center, 135 Wilbur Avenue, and begin at 7:00 p.m.
We urge all residents to join the NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH program so that we can work together to keep Kenmore a safe community. ![]() |
